Coleen's Real Women

Determined to represent a new kind of WAG, football wife Coleen Rooney has gone from schoolgirl to successful business woman since she was thrust into the media spotlight as a teenager. But despite fame, money and her showbiz pals, the 22-year-old remains down to earth, working hard to be a role model for other young girls. Eager to promote women’s curves and natural beauty, Coleen is turning her back on the media and fashion industry’s obsession with stick thin celebrities.

Now Coleen is on the lookout for Real Women to take part in high-profile advertising campaigns with brands including Avon, Ultimo lingerie and Schwarzkopf.

In each episode the UK’s favourite girl-next-door will scour the streets of Britain in search of Real Women to cast in eight high profile modelling assignments. These will be genuine jobs but with one major difference – all the women Coleen selects are amateurs, all professional models are barred! At the beginning of each show, Coleen will be given a brief from the brand before she sets out on a scouting mission and holds open castings to find girls she thinks will not only fit the brief but could win the campaign over professional models. If their look and personality fits the brief and the girls take a great picture they could be in the running to become the face of a major brand.

Will her recruits win when pitched against professional models?

I agree Paula I just emailed the lifestyle channel. I to think there should be an Australian version of this I myself would love to be a contestant. I think this is a touch subject in all countries and we need an Australian host to get real aussie women representing our products in the media industry a show like this would bring out a great response. We don't need the British version bring on the aussie one.

I have just watched the New York casting for a model with the big wig agency and Colleens girls. I thought it was terrible . The fashion industry has to realize there are beautiful woman out there that are plus size or not quite tall enough ect. I agree Australia needs to have a program like this and have an Australian presenter. I have been in the Fashion Industry for 20 years and now work in a small boutique dealing with plus size woman and absolutely love it. It gives me such satisfaction to see a customer feel confident with what they seen in the mirror. I would apply or for that matter host the show even though I am a novice.
