Plump it up

There’s really only one time you’ll be happy to hear the words ‘full and plump’ mentioned in the same sentence as your name (particularly if you’re approaching your wedding day), and that’s when people are commenting on your lips. So what happens when you don’t have the shapely smile you’ve always dreamed of? No need to go under the knife – not when you can duck out in your lunch break for a cheeky Restylane lip enhancement. The facts are as follows:

How does it work?
Long-lasting but unfortunately not permanent, Restylane is a crystal-clear gel, or dermal filler, made of stabilized hyaluronic acid – a substance that our bodies produce naturally to hold water, help hydrate and give volume to our skin. While it can be used to fill lines and enhance undefined facial features, Restylane has found its niche (and a whole host of celebrity fans) in most commonly creating a full, sexy pout.

Will it hurt?
The pain involved in this particular treatment is minimal compared to that of cosmetic surgery procedures. But anyone who doesn’t like needles, beware - beauty comes with a price and in this case, the cost is a series of tiny needles used to inject the filler directly into your lips. Numbing injections will be administered before you begin, but these can sting considerably and you may still feel a slight burning sensation as the Restylane goes in.

Post-treatment, there is also a chance of bleeding, swelling and bruising to your lips. So while your fiancé might find your new pout irresistible, its tender state might require you to lay off the kissing for a few days!

When will I see results?
A Restylane lip treatment can be performed in approximately the same it takes to eat a sandwich on your lunch break. Results take effect immediately and can last anywhere from six months to a year, depending on how fast your body metabolises and breaks down the gel.

I would prefer to learn to love the way I look naturally. I’m not going to spend all that money on fake lips when there are families around the world that can’t even afford to eat.
